We are most excited to announce support for one more conversation universe – Plurk.
We have been discussing on the possibility of supporting Plurk since a month ago. One of the priorities we had is ease of use and reliability that is similar to what we offered for Twitter. We finally agreed our Plurk feature is good to be released for your usage.
Plurk SMS support is offered to Singapore and Malaysian users. To update Plurk with your handphone, just sign in with your existing Plurk email and password. Unlike for Twitter, gladlyCast requires your email and password here.
If you have associated your phone number with Twitter already, sending an SMS to gladlyCast will not only update Twitter but your Plurk too. Have fun (:
In the spirit of Emmys, we’d like to thank you for all the little feedbacks we have been receiving. This feature would not be possible without Plurk too. Thanks everyone.
You should friend us at Plurk too if you have one.
Tips for users with Twitter and Plurk:
- SMS in “
w twitter message” or “w t hi” to update Twitter - SMS in “
w plurk hi” or “w p hi” to update Plurk.

The number that we’re sending to, is it a Singtel number?
Yes it is
I always wonder why you have to use flipped smiley like this (:, instead of the commonly-used :)
Anyway, since I already associated my number with two Twitter account, how do I selectively update only the Plurk account? (Actually my Twitter and Plurk have the same username, so what I wanted to do is update Khairul altogether on both accounts, w/o affecting the others)
Your tweet had just answered my question above, partly:
“Tips for users with Twitter+Plurk accounts: SMS in ‘w twitter hi’ OR ‘w t hi’ to update Twitter, ‘w plurk hi’ OR ‘w p hi’ to update Plurk.”
So I tried “w t p khairul Hi” so that I can update khairul@twitter & khairul@plurk w/o affecting my second Twitter account, but it send “p khairul Hi” to all Twitter accounts instead. Something wrong with my syntax, perhaps.
can i clarify some matters?
1. typing “w p hi” or “w t hi” will send the update ONLY to either Plurk / Twitter?
2. if we send @replies to Twitter without specifying Twitter only, will it appear on Plurk? some services recognize that @replies are only for Twitter. does that work on gladlyCast?
thanks for this, btw! u guys sure do work fast! :D See u on P / T! :D
Daphne, in order to @reply to Twitter only, you’ll have to do “w t @reply”
We do not treat @ any differently than the usual updates. And hmm, you don’t do @reply on Plurk? Haha.
@gladlyCode i don’t want my Tweet replies to appear as separate plurks on my timeline. that would be really disastrous. lol.
Haha. Just do ‘w t message’ then. :)
Hi MK, you cannot send to both Twitter and Plurk this way. You will have to send it twice. This is by design. We discovered most users have 2 accounts and prefer to send to both and occasionally to selected account. We flipped the smiley because one of our users convinced us that (: is the new :)
EDIT: Typing “Hello there” sends to all the accounts you have previously associated with gladlyCast.
if we were to stop the update on plurk how do we do it rather than always typing the w t message or w p message?
fwst: Typing just “Hello there” sends to all your accounts. Type “w t message” updates your Twitter but not your Plurk.
love this additional plurk service! aft a few try and im finally getting the hang of it! (: thanks!!
hellozx :D . er , does this requires any fee ?
smileyz, the fees are the same as sending an SMS to your friend.
